Charlotte is a member of the family law department based at our St Helens office.
Charlotte joined Stephensons in 1996 as an office junior and has since progressed through the firm to qualify as a Solicitor. She graduated with her BA Honours Degree in Law with Politics from the University of Central Lancashire in 2000 and went on to study the Legal Practice Court at Nottingham Trent University. Charlotte completed her training contract and qualified as a solicitor in 2003.
Charlotte was appointed an Associate of the firm in 2008.
Charlotte is a trained collaborative lawyer. Collaborative law is an increasingly popular approach for couples wishing to avoid the courts. Instead they are supported by specially trained lawyers who assist them to formally end their relationship, face to face, in a dignified and respectful manner.
Charlotte is also a trained family mediator. Mediators assist separating couples in making arrangements concerning their children and finances, helping them to reach their own joint decisions. Mediation has a significant role in family court applications, as well as applications for public funding.
Charlotte deals with all areas of relationship breakdown, and is a Resolution accredited Specialist Family Lawyer, specialising in private children law and advanced financial provision.
Out of the office, Charlotte enjoys all styles of music, a love for travel and an avid interest in genealogy. She is also a warranted Scout Leader with a Scout group in the Wigan District.
