Ann qualified as a solicitor in 1983 in Blackburn. After working in Blackburn she set up as a sole practitioner in 1988 but then moved to Stephensons in 1991. In 1993 Ann was appointed a Partner. She was Head of Personal Injury and then Head of Litigation before taking a seat on the Board in 2002, she held the role of Managing Partner until April 2008 when she was elected Chairwoman by the Partners of the firm.
In her role Ann has management responsibility for over 200 lawyers and numerous support staff.
Ann is a member of the Manchester Law Society, the Solicitors Regulation Authority's Personal Injury Accreditation Scheme and she was appointed as a Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) in 2003. Before taking up her position as Chairwoman Ann's specialism was catastrophic injury cases notably brain injury and spinal injury matters.
Ann’s goal is to make Stephensons a trusted brand in the legal services market.
In her role as Chairwoman Ann has responsibility for strategy and growth in addition to providing a mentoring role for Partners. Ann also carries the responsibility for risk and compliance across the firm.
Ann has a passion for the development of young people and sits on the Board of Governors at Wigan & Leigh College.
