It is aiming to build on a decent SME client base and make inroads into the major commercial market on the back of a close working relationship with the city council. 2004 saw the firm act on several MBOs. Stephensons opened a new Manchester office in 2005, to add to its offices in Wigan, St. Helens and Leigh. It closed its Salford office in 2005, relocating personnel to Manchester.
