Leading North West law firm, Stephensons Solicitors LLP has recruited an experienced risk professional to the role of risk manager.
Mike Parnell will head up the firm’s Risk team, following an eight-year term at the Solicitors Regulation Authority where he worked as a practice standards adviser, and was a member of the Fraud, Confidential Intelligence Bureau and an advisor and monitor of the SRA's Assigned Risk Pool for firms.
Mike has been working as a regulatory risk and compliance professional for over 10 years.
Michael is responsible for ensuring the firm’s compliance with all regulatory bodies, including the SRA, Legal Services Commission and Lexcel, as well as facilitating risk identification and educating staff in risk management and internal control.
Mike is based in Stephenson’s head office in Leigh, but has risk responsibility for the firm’s network of eight offices around the North West, which also includes offices in Altrincham, Manchester, Bolton, Wigan and St Helens.
