Employment advice for local businesses

Businesses in the Rossendale area are being invited to attend a seminar at St Mary’s Chambers in Rawtenstall, to find out about employment law changes which could affect their business.

The seminar, on Tuesday 12th June, will look in detail about what businesses should be doing to prepare for the impending pension reforms, advice on employment legislation, saving for retirement and funding a business through a tragedy.

Philip Richardson, an employment associate solicitor at North West law firm, Stephensons Solicitors LLP, will be speaking on the latest employment law changes to affect business owners. Marcia O’Connor, of Liberty Plus Financial Services Ltd will speak on pension reforms, and forward planning.

Philip Richardson said: “This is the ideal forum for local businesses to find out about legislation that will affect their businesses. There has recently been a significant change to the qualifying period for making an unfair dismissal claim which should give greater flexibility to businesses. We’ll talk them through the changes and also provide ten tips of things to include within employment contracts.”

The event runs from 9.30am to 11.30am on Tuesday 12th June. It is free to attend and those wishing to register should do so by email to pri@stephensons.co.uk or call 01942 774192.
