Stephensons Solicitors LLP has raised £195 for brain injury charity, Headway, after taking part in fundraising activities during Action for Brain Injury Week 2012.
The firm’s clinical negligence team, which specialises in helping people who have suffered brain injuries at birth to gain access to justice, donned hats on Friday as part of the charity’s Hats for Headway day, in return for donation, to raise awareness of brain injuries. The entire firm also took part in a charity raffle to help bring the total to £195.
Headway runs Action for Brain Injury Week each year. Their aim is to promote understanding of all aspects of brain injury and to provide information, support and services to people with a brain injury, their families and carers.
Louise Griffiths, Partner and head of the clinical negligence department, said: “This is the first year we have raised funds in this way for Headway. I would like to say ‘hats off’ to the clinical negligence team, who donned their hats in return for a donation to charity, and I’m also pleased that the whole firm got behind the challenge to raise as much as we could.
“It costs £50 to provide information packs for two families when a relative has a brain injury, so by taking part we are pleased that eight families will benefit in some way, be it the injured person or indeed the people that care for them.”
Stephensons’ clinical negligence and personal injury teams work with local people every day who have been affected by brain injuries, through no fault of their own and help them to gain compensation for their injuries and care needs.
