Leading law firm, Stephensons Solicitors LLP, has donated money to fund a local scout’s summer camp.

Stephensons has pledged £250 to the 1st Golborne St Thomas Scouts to help fund their trip to the International Scout Camp in the Netherlands.

The camp, which will take place from August 8-17th, will allow the scouts and explorers to take part in outside activities such as climbing, canoeing, geo-caching and hiking. The trip will also include days out to Amsterdam and local villages.

The scouts and explorers, aged between 10 and 18, have also been raising money by regular fundraising activities such as backpacks, raffles and a cheese and wine nights for parents.

Charlotte Faid, an assistant scout leader at Golborne Scouts and a solicitor at Stephensons, said: “We are extremely grateful for the money that Stephensons has donated. This will be the first time we have taken the children abroad in five years and they are very excited to be able to visit the international scout camp in Holland.”

Ann Harrison, chairwoman at Stephensons, said: “When a member of our staff told us that the Golborne Scouts were in need of donations, we were more than happy to help fund something which will benefit members of the local community and give the scouts a trip to remember!”
