HR helpline to assist concerned employers

Leading North West law firm launches exclusive helpline for local businesses.

In a bid to help business owners with employment law issues, Stephensons Solicitors LLP has created a new helpline, Workplace Connect.

Workplace Connect is designed to provide a HR advisory service for those businesses who don’t have access to dedicated HR and employment support. The free service will also be valuable to businesses who have HR support but may appreciate peace of mind or want a second opinion on any issues they are experiencing.

Businesses frequently come up against employment law issues and so the type of matters Stephensons could assist with are various, but include:

  • helping to deal with a disciplinary process;
  • helping to manage a grievance;
  • dealing with lengthy sickness absences
  • managing conduct and capability;
  • dealing with pay issues;
  • advising on recruitment.

Phil Richardson, an employment solicitor at Stephensons, said: “We recognise that many businesses do not have the resource to recruit a dedicated specialist to deal with HR issues. Some businesses also value a second opinion on any issues they are experiencing. We’ve therefore implemented Workplace Connect as a cost effective service for all businesses to deal with their HR queries.

 “The service allows employers to speak free of charge with an employment law specialist.. During this time, employers will receive specialist advice about their concern and be given options about how best to move forward."

Stephensons also offers a number of fixed priced packages for small and medium businesses such as Workplace Plus and Workplace Assist, which are designed to help with the everyday headaches of being an employer. For clients using these services, Stephensons will deal with a range of employment issues from structuring employment policies to advice on recruitment, drafting contracts to documenting company procedures.
